Engineering Overview
Effluent Treatment Plant designed to treat 60 kilolitres of industrial wastewater per day. ETP = Effluent Treatment Plant KLD = Kilolitres per Day 60 KLD = 60,000 litres/day Basic flow A typical 60 KLD ETP may have: Collection tank → Bar screen → Oil & grease trap → Equalization tank → pH adjustment → Coagulation/Flocculation → Primary settling → Biological treatment → Secondary settling → Filtration → Treated-water tank The exact process depends on the type of industry and the wastewater characteristics. Capacity calculation If the plant operates 24 hours/day: 60,000 L/day ÷ 24 = 2,500 L/hour So the average flow is about 2.5 m³/hour. For design, engineers normally provide some margin for peak flow, so the actual equipment capacities may be higher than this average.
